Recovery continues. I had my right shoulder replaced on December 9th so today I began my second week of recovery. I'm glad to say that this week is going much easier. When I had my left shoulder done in August I felt that I rushed myself and put myself under too much poressure to get back in the saddle. This time I decided to take two full weeks. This might be too long for me but I am feeling much better.
I can't get over how tough it is to just SLOOOWWWW DOWWWNNNNN! We live in such a rush rush society. Life gets busy and I believe we get used to it. When the foot comes off the accelerator, we forget what it's like. I've been able to eat when I'm hungry (not when I've finally found time,) read when I want (not because I had to cram for an interview), and go for a walk when I wanted (instead of never having the time to exercise.) I know it's a busy time of the year, but TRY IT! See if you can slow it down even for an afternoon. I can tell you for a fact it is well worth it.

I became a regualar bicycle rider a few years ago.
I ride to Stop and Shop a lot when we only need a few things. People have offered to let me cut in line and I get to say. "Thank you, but I'm not in a hurry. I'm on my bike".
The bike has shown me that slowing down, very often gets me there quicker. Like crossing the bridge. I get to ride to the front of the line on the sidewalk and get to the stairs before some cars have even started moving.
I also get to smell lots of roses.
