Random thoughts while doing the show......
We had a lot of great guesses with the Impossible Question today. "The average man has more of this than the average woman." People said "Ego" among other things. We'll take more calls Monday.
Tiger Woods got eliminated from the golf tournament on Thursday. I'm thinkin' NBC must be ticked as they were banking on him being part of their coverage this weekend.
Chelsea Clinton turns 29 today! When did THAT happen?

Just Talk To Me
Anyone else upset with A-Rod? Not just for using steroids when everyone was hoping he was the saviour of baseball, but for that press conference yesterday. It bothered me, and bothers me when others do this, when he came out and read from a prepared statement. Just talk to me! Just tell me what you did, why you did it and what you plan to do about it. That prepared statement just says you are afraid to speak on your own because you might say something you shouldn't. I could see if he was a person who was very shy and didn't speak well in public, but that is not the case with ARod. It was definately on the advice of damage control specialists.

Cut,cut,cut,cut,cut
Yeah....everybody's cutting! We had the story today about the firefighter's union and the police union voting "no" to the proposed 10% paycut. Were they right to vote no? Ahhhhhhhhhh....I'm not sure. The mayor has said it will lead to layoffs. I've had callers this week say they thought the police and fire fighters had a brotherhood and they really aren't looking out for each other. Others have said we don't have to lay off anybody. Just use the rainy day fund because it's raining....it's pouring. One caller said we really can't say how we would vote, unless we're faced with a vote. I know I had a cut. Mine was only 5% and some vacation time. I really didn't have a choice. In these troubling times, I'm just glad there is still a job to go to every morning, and I hope it continues. Just hang on! The rollercoaster of life rolls onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

You're Letting Me Win!
An interesting segment on the morning show today...I was tslking about a piece in the Boston Globe today about how all parents have times when they let their children win at games, especially when they are really young. Experts say it's the thing to do for preschoolers and young children. I was wondering, at what age should you change and get competitive? A caller pointed out that all children are different and it really depends on the child's maturity. I think she's right. Another caller pointed out that the most important thing is just the fact that you are spending time with the children when hopefully they have your complete attention. I couldn't agree more. Yes we are all busy, and many times we are busy with very important things....but wouldn't it be great if you could give your kids or grand children an hour or more of your total attention every day????
